I *am* the ghost in the machine

Okay, we're going to practice making plots in the shortest possible format: the Limerick.
Actually, I guess the haiku would be the shortest, but a limerick lends its self especially to creating a complete plot with a main character, pressure, attempts to relieve pressure and resolution.
The WINNER of this game (as voted by a jury of your peers) will win the first ever felt zombie bunny. That's right, a zombie bunny JUST FOR YOU.
PLUS (cause just one thing is never enough) I'll send you a book I actually wrote (right, don't push and shove, you can have one of my books).

So, all you have to do is write a fully plotted story in the form of a limerick.
You'll  introduce the character and the problem.
You'll have at least one failed attempt at resolving the problem.
And the last line will show the resolution.

So it could work like this...

There once was a puppy named Boop
Who didn't know quite where to poop
He tried on the floor
He tried near the door
He finally pooped by the stoop.

Okay, that's a really crappy example (no zombie bunny for me) but it introduces the character (Boop) and the problem (he doesn't know where to poop). It gives two attempts at finding resolution (on the floor, near the door) and then resolves when he learns to poop near the stoop.

Here's another

Young Hetty had quite lost her hat
When looking for night flying bats
She searched everywhere
Then under a bear
She found her poor hat squashed quite flat.

Again we meet the main character, see her problem, she tries to resolve it without success, then she reaches resolution.

Okay, got it? Now you try it. You can post as many as you want. We'll vote at the end of the winner.

Oh, I dunno...when we have enough entries in this thread, we'll stop and vote.

Yes, I made the bunny last night while being forced to sit through the most tedious children's movie I've had inflicted on me in a long l-o-n-g time.

Now, to get in the voting for the bunny/book, you limerick has to actually have a plot. BUT the meter can be off (though folks should think about meter too when voting.) And I will post a single post about the limerick and how it works as plot...since that's sorta the purpose, fine tuning how well we do really tight plots. You'll have to kind of free yourself from what limericks NORMALLY do (normally, they're just funny and play on words a good bit) and think PLOT to get this to work.

LOL - I saw the rules before I read the others and sent in a limerick.  Had no idea it was a game/contest.  That's a horse of a different color...

I despise limericks. The aabba rhyme melts my last remaining gray cells.

I only do them for my zombie bunny subjects...

...'cause I am their KING!
