I am working on assingment 10 A, and I am having problems coming up with a book idea.  I am torn between nonfiction and fiction.  I don't know whether to do one about animals, or being animals, being a country type person.  I thought about one on hunting and motocross, but those are such broad areas, and keeping it age appropriate.  Sometimes we have too much that we can choose from, and nothing jumps out.  sometimes it takes another persons view point to get yourself back on track.  I even thought about bible stories, or stories teaching Christian values.  Anyone who made it through this struggle that can give me some suggestion for ideas. Sometime you need to prime the pump........thanks.

I'm not at assignment 10A yet but it is fast approaching.  Here are some thoughts that came to mind after reading your post.  What about a MC that has to decide on whether a hunting trip or a motorcross race is more important to him/her because they fall on the same weekend.  It could be a one time opportunity due to money or an ailing relative or friend.  Or what if its the MC is ailing?

Hope these ideas help.  Good luck!  Grin

Well are you good with facts if you are then maybe you should write a nonfictions story. If your good with plot then I'd say do fiction. Whichever your strongest in I think you should choose.
Some of my inspirations and ideas come from when I was a kid. Maybe you went to a birthday party, yet it didn't work out the way you wanted it, or maybe write about your first visit to the dentist, or maybe just something you overcame growing up.

I like fiction because I love plot and I'm not great with facts. I make stories out of past experiences in my life.
Also being around kids can help sometimes it sparks an idea. I also read alot alot alot and sometimes that spurts an idea out too.
Good luck hope this helped a little.

Remember too that any story can teach good moral lessons.

I have started a book - but my ideas keep changing and I keep changing the MC - basically its the same story genre but a different character POV.  So I have decided that I will eventually write 2 books - one for each character showing a different side of things (kind of like reading The Hobbit, all about Bilbo's adventures, and then Lord of the Rings - about Frodo's adventures - but both are about Hobbits and middle earth etc)

So ... what I am saying is try your hand writing something about anything you're interested in and see which one takes you the furthest.

Good luck.

What a neat idea* I love J.R.R. Tolkein books...and you have a neat idea. I will make sure to keep you in mind when I search the book shelves.
