If at first you don't succeed...You know the drill

« on: October 12, 2010, 10:34:05 PM »

Um.. Apprapot  - er - apropos - um - RELATING to nothing in particular, does anyone know why you don't get somebody's profile when you click "show profile" in that little space under their name next to their message?  All you get is a batch of icons and a snippy message to the effect that you're not allowed to edit profiles!  (signed)  Confused in Richmond

Try clicking on the person's name in the post. I just did that with yours, and got to your profile. Although...members with fewer than a certain number of posts are restricted from certain activities. Just wait till the surprises start coming!

That might be the issue with you, for now. So, keep posting, and you just might get to see our profiles!

Hmmm... Thanks.  I'll explore in more detail later.  It seems to let me see your posts but doesn't seem to tell me important profile stuff, like where you're from, married and how many kids, etc. etc.

Meanwhile It's late, I need to turn this damn thing off so I can sleep and perchance dream until the morrow.   When I've gotta get these stories off my desk!

Papa, the only stuff on our profile pages is the stuff we put there ourselves, and putting where we're from and info about our families and so on is something most of us wouldn't be comfortable with. And after all, your profile page doesn't have most of that kind of info on it, either!

To respond to your first post, I can get to your page by clicking on that "show profile" button, so... hmm...? I dunno.

That was my thought as well, but I didn't want to be the first to say it.

Sorry about that. I'm trying to catch the spammers as quick as they register but we're getting a lot of them. Must be the season. I've banned this one.
