Quick question about the query letter and the target markets you list in lesson 8. Do you necessarily need to go with the magazine you listed first in lesson 8? The one I listed first doesn't respond to queries for several months. I would rather not wait that long to hear back on my first submission (if I do submit this article, and I hope I do!). Just trying to stick to the "rules" here!

No, in fact, if you felt you discovered a better market since you made your first picks...you could go with something that wasn't on the list at all.
