Good Morning everyone.  One comment on assignment 1.  Just an observation, but it seems that picture #2, kids running to barn, is a popular choice.  I chose it !! But from this forum, and the supplemental reading material, I discovered that almost anyone who chose that picture, wrote about a storm (I did !)  Is that ok?  I don't want to seem like I'm copying someone else.  I know in college everyone in class got one scenario to write about.  There were 15 in the class, and, 15 different stories about the same thing.  So I guess that's ok.  I think my story IS pretty unique (lol).  Wouldn't it be nice if there were twenty or so pics to choose from.  That would include all genres, including mystery, fantasy, etc.  I'm following the assignments just as they are given.  I feel, for me, that will discipline me more.  By the way, I've been reading the forums all weekend, and WOW !  What talent I see on here.  Everyone is a genius !
I will learn a lot here I'm sure.  Wrote for adults for years, but this is completely different.  I'm loving it so far.  Have a good day everyone and thanks ahead for your comments.   Wink

Really each of the pictures tends to create stories with strong similarities. But this is really just a kind of exercise. Your instructor wants to see how well you write and create plot and handle dialogue and just all the things related to writing so she can plan the best way to address your talents and needs throughout the course.

They've tested a lot of pictures. One had dancing mice and cats playing fiddles (I think). It inspired the more horrifying stories of cats luring mice to their doom with the fiddle playing. Eek.

Anyway, having a storm is just fine. No one will think you copied. The picture just looks kinda stormy.

Thanks Jan.  The pix  does look stormy.  I guess that's the idea; to write your own take on it.
I ended up with 781 words.  I don't think that's too bad.  Want to stay true to the assignment if I can.  This is one of the best decisions I've ever made !  I know I'm going to love every minute of this !  Everyone seems so supportive on the forum.  Surrounded by much talent!
