Come fly with me and let's do 'Whirly-Floops'

« on: November 16, 2008, 12:31:08 AM »

I was walking along the beach when a plastic milk bottle, floating at the edge of the water, caught my eye.  It was the gallon size and it seemed to have a note in it, so I ran over to read the note.  I was wrong.  It was not a note at all, but just a large piece of paper, wrapped widely inside, so I could not tell what else might be in the bottle.  When I pulled the paper out, to my great surprise, there was a little man sitting at the bottom.  He was only about 3" tall and was dressed in the style of the 1890's.  He asked me to take him home, but first he wanted me to pick up two things.  He was very clear about the importance of those two things.
In about fifty words, can you tell why he wanted to go home with me?  Why was he dressed in the 1890's style and what were the two things the little man needed so desparately and why did he need each item?

He went to retrieve the items. He was from the 1890's period he arrived in the future by floating in the magical milk bottle. He needed a pocket watch, and a toy train. When the watch's big hand reached the 3 he had to twirl around in a circle 3 times while holding the toy train, to be transported back home.

That's a little over 50 Yaya, sorry. I could have kept on writing! LOL!

E H R,

You did well.  A magical milk bottle!  That's a good idea.  You could do so much with this story.  That's alright if you went a little over fifty words.  You came through with some really good stuff.  Do the watch and the train have to be any special kind?

Thanks Yaya and Leah! I love making stuff up, it's so fun!

Yaya, the watch has to be solid gold for the time travel to work, and the toy train has to be a vintage Lionel train. These have significant meaning to the magical milk bottle, because the little boy who owned the train at that time used to live in the house you live in, and lost his toy train in the same sea that the milk bottle floated the waves. See the little man knew all of this, he had been trapped in the bottle living on a war ship for years, until a sailor threw the bottle overboard per the little man's instructions to find his way home, he knew he had to have those things to get home, and he knew where to find them. It was no coincidence that he met you, he knew what was going to happen ahead of time because it had happened to him once before when he was a wee lad. In his culture things took place twice to complete the circle of life, thus the reason for him having to twirl around in circles 3 times while holding the toy train to be transported back home. Through the gold pocket watch and the vintage Lionel train he would find his way home once again. The milk bottle was magical because the little man was magical.

I could go on with this Yaya! It's so fun! There's so many ways this one could go! Thanks for posting this fun topic!

Many blessings and happy writing to the both of you!

Yaya, I would love to write a book about this using the story line above. It would be so neat!

E H R,

You are the master of your imagination.  I can see that you are developing a wonderful plot with this storyline and I am enjoying every minute of it.  Go for it!  Take it wherever your mind can travel.  All I ask is that I get a chance to read it when you get it published.  I can see that it is going to be an amazing story, so I have no doubt that you will get it published and I can hardly wait.  Perhaps, you could think of some way to throw in a counterpart for the little man; a future wife who is experiencing her own set of magical activities.  Write on!  Let me know when its published.

Yaya, I am having fun with this story! I am glad you are enjoying it, that blesses my heart to know that! I am on lesson #6 in the ICL course, I may write this story for lesson 10 when I have to write a manuscript. Of course I may write it before then. I'm excited about this opportunity! I will definitely let you read it first, it would be my honor. Would you be interested in reading it as I write it? You could be my editor. If time allows for you to be able to do so of course. If not, I completely understand. I will let you know when I get it published. I only hope I can have it published someday. I hope it will be good enough to be publishable. In my free time, I am definitely going to work on this story and turn it into a book. I pray it goes ok.

Thank you sooo much for inspiring me! I am truly loving the topics you are posting! It's so refreshing to have something new to inspire you. And it's so fun too! Thanks for your talent on here, it's really amazing! I wish you all the best and may all of your dreams come true! Many blessings, and happy writing to you always!

E H R,

You honor me with your request, but I am far from being able to edit anyone's work.  I have quite a bit of difficulty editing my own.  Yes, I would love to read it as you write it, but I strongly recommend that you trust your instructor and write the story using her guidance.  When its published, please allow me the gift of your signature when I buy my own copy.  I know you will write it and I am thrilled that I had some small part in your obvious creatiive abilities.  You are a very talented writer and I know the story will be great.  For any credit you have blessed me with, I thank you, but you are the one who took the idea and built on it.  I know you will do well.

Yaya,

Thanks so much for the vote of confidence! You have really been an inspiration to me. You've helped me to get my creative juices flowing again. I had been in some sort of a rut. You helped me to jump over that big hurdle! I thank you for that from the bottom of my heart! It would be an honor for me to have you read my book and very humbling. I just hope I can get it started and finished, and then hopefully published. I've heard that it takes 7 years to have a book published! Can you believe that?!!
I hope I can last that long! LOL!

Thanks for everything! I wish you many successes! Many blessings, and happy writing to you always!

E H R,

WAH!!!  Seven years?!?  I hope it doesn't take that long.  I could be fourteen years old, by then.  I'm getting older, every day.  You must talk to the Powers That Be and change that.  Don't they know that there are a lot of really impatient writers who have waited all their lives to be published?  We must find a way to cut the time down for getting a book published.  I'll leave it up to you to do what it takes to change that, okay?  Okay, now, I'm counting on you.  You go, girl.    Cheesy

Yaya, I know, 7 years is a loooooooong time to wait for a book to be published! It's actually depressing to think about it! I too am getting older! I should've started when I was a lot younger! You know what though, it's never too late and you're never too old to make something of yourself. I have always believed that. There are a lot of writers who have waited their whole lives to get published! You know what makes me furious, anyone who's famous that writes a book, they dont' have to wait 7 years, no they get their stuff out there because of their name! Now, I think that needs to change! They should have to wait just as long as the rest of us! It's just not fair! I demand justice! LOL!

I agree with you, we must find a way to cut the time to get a book published. We must find a way to overcome the hollywoodites! LOL! I'll do what I can to help change it. Thanks for having confidence in me Yaya! Just say a prayer, cause I'm gonna need it!

E H R,

Yes, you are gonna' need a lot of help and I will be here, praying like crazy for you.  But I know you can do it.  Hang in there.

As far as making something of myself;  I did that last week.  I made a laughing stock of myself.  tee, hee.  By the way, is a laughing stock a herd of happy cows?  haha   Tongue

Yes, I agree that it is unfair.  Of course, I may not think that, if I ever get famous and they snap up my book really quick.   Grin  Its just not fair the way the Hollywoodites are taking over the world.  You fix it, okay?  In your spare time.  I'm sure that you have spare time, just like all the rest of us, right?  Not!  That's okay.  I know you will fix it, anyway.  Thanks.

Yaya, it's hard to believe you made a laughing stock of yourself. LOL! Yes, I would say a laughing stock is a herd of very happy cows! You, crack me up! I do hope you become famous, and then you won't have to wait 7 years for a book to be published. I'll try to fix this publishing mess! HA!

Thanks for the prayers in advance, cause I'm gonna need them! I've got a long road ahead of me, but these boards make the load lighter, especially with the kindness of others like yourself. I really appreciate it too! In the mean time, I'm hanging tight! LOL!

Many blessings, and happy writing to you!
