Jo paces through the dining room of the cafe as she watches for a delivery truck. At her house, it is usually in the afternoon, but she is not sure about here at the cafe. She hears soft singing from the bowl on the bookcase and smile. Even the littlest spirits can sense spring approaching.

She concentrate on other things. Zebra - or was it Kate, want to have rabbit ears and feet for the eggs and she makes mental note to start saving styeform trays for the feet. And she had to hunt around for the dye recipe she had - it had been a while since she had to use it...

Afternoon already? My how time flies when you're sleepin' on the job. Belle, I'll have a left-handed monkey, shaken, not stirred. And as for 'Arold, I mean Harold, my adopted half German half Irish half turkey half pig protoganist, he'll have the same, only stirred, not shaken. And what's with the French accent?

Well, um, there ya go Keggy. I guess me half nut halfwit ol' china answered your question. Gee, I could use an ibuprofen right about now. says Harold

It ain't no French accent there, laddie. It be Irish. *Switches to French.* Obveeously, you can't tell zee difference from an Ireeshman to a Frenchman. Peety.

*To Keggy.* What would you like, Hon?  Smiley

"Tra-lala-lala, spring is in the air, and I am a flower...with nothing interesting to say."

(Can anyone name where that quote came from?.........Londy?)

Keggy sits in a booth, staring out the cafe window.
It was so nice out today. Smiley This is why I love March! What do you think, Merry?

Merry lands gracefully on the table in front of Keggy, and joins her in smiling out the window.

Childish chatter followed Jo as she pulled a child's wagon with Mariah and Mary sitting in it; Jasper is trotting along behind them.

Ok, ladies, Jo reached down to help one-year-old Mary get out. Lets see if the bulbs have been delivered yet.

Jo passes Zeebs, as she is still seen staring at the dirt piles after 2 days and 2 hours. There is a slight drizzle coming down.

Oh hi there Zeebs, are you stuck? says Jo.

No. No, I'm just waiting. If you have an extra umbrella, I could use one. Oranju and I are beginning to get a bit soggy out here.

Jo is, unfortunately, without any umbrella's. So, the four spirits, joy, merry, hope and love flitter out and hold a plastic table cloth over their heads. While thankful buzzes out with hot chocolates for everyone. The wee little chillin's get theirs in tippy cups. (cooled down, of course)

Yes, Jasper, I like tippy cups too.

Zeebs hangs out her lower lip.

Hey, Belle!

Jo comes in with the two little girls and Jasper. Any fruit juice for these two? Yes, Jasper. You want something to drink as well.

Oh, has the bulb been deliver yet?

Kate strolls up the walk, tilts her head to watch the Zeebs and the dirt and the spirits and the tablecloth for a bit, and tromps into the café.

But she toddles right back out, carrying two fluffy towels. She starts blotting drizzle off the Zebra and the giraffe.

So... whatcha waitin' for, eh?

It's Pongo! Hey, Pongo.

No wash, just dry, cuz they been standing in the drizzle. I haven't found out why yet, except that they been staring at a pile of dirt.

Oh, ackshally, instead of extinguishing you might consider cuddling up with them a bit, if you wouldn't mind. I expect they're pretty cold.

Kate tucks the (fireproof) towels around the Zeebs and Oranju, just in case Pongo decides to warm them up a bit enthusiastically.

Say, Pongo dear, is Tournoire all right? He hasn't been here for ever and ever.

Say, Pongo dear, is Tournoire all right? He hasn't been here for ever and ever.

He's super-duper, Kate, and I will tell him you asked about him.

I just talked to Tournoire last night.  He's busy with all manner of things but he's also contemplating buying more cast iron cookware.  Now, this is a serious endeavor...buying this stuff.  The pan he now wants is a 12-inch skillet...and he thinks it might even exceed a foot in diameter.  It may very well be a 14-inch bugger.  That's too big.  Nobody needs a 14-inch skillet.  So, that's where we are.  Trying to get back to the store with a tape measure.

Oh, he's also investing in a universal lid, the purchase of which I fully encourage.  Fab things, those universal lids.

Cookware is good. I used to have a universal lid. I wonder...

Kate wanders off, looking under and behind things as she goes.

Oh, good! Jo opened the box and looks at the bulbs, Just enough. Now if I can get Zeebs away from her spot so that I can get them planted this weekend... I can't imagine what she is... staring... at... KATE!!
