"A perfect rainbow never seemed so dull." ~N.Jonas

« on: February 08, 2010, 07:40:40 PM »

My family just learned that my aunt has stage 4 thyroid cancer. Sad Sad  She might have to go in for surgery later this month, surgery to remove tumors by her vocal cords. She wouldn't be able to talk afterward, and she might need a permanent...whatever is the thing that helps you breathe (sorry, can't remember what its called...a respirator?). She's getting a second opinion though, and might not have the surgery.
At this point, things don't look good. Thoughts and prayers for my aunt and her family (husband and two middle-graders) are much appreciated.

Keggy, I feel so terrible for your family.  I will certainly pray.

When I first saw the title of your post, I thought perhaps it was you who was diagnosed. Forgive my selfishness, but there's a sense of relief here along with the feelings of sympathy for your aunt and her family.

Take care, Keggy.

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry, Keggy!
Yes, I will cetainly be praying for your aunt . . . Here's hoping all will go well, she will be completely healed, and that good will come out of this.
I hope your family will be okay too.
Cancer is such a hard thing to go through with the family. I know. Sad

Wishing the best, dear.
Stay well.

Keggy, I'm so sorry about your aunt, and her family, and you all. Prayers and positive thoughts are heading out now, and I hope the second doctor has something positive to say.

Keggy,

I feel deep  sadness for your family, having been in that position far too many times. You and your family will certainly have my thoughts and prayers without fail.

Positive thoughts can do no harm and may do a great deal of good besides.

Hang in there, Keggy, we will always be here for you whenever you need a pep talk or a shoulder to lean on, cry on, or just use for a hug.

Keggy,

I'm so sorry about your aunt.  I know what it is to go through something like this, since both my parents had cancer, as did I.  It isn't just the person who has it, it is the entire family.

I also had a tumor on my thyroid, near my vocal cords, and it was that surgery that took my singing voice away.  However, it was not stage 4.

Keep the faith, Keggy, and do what you have to do to keep your mind and spirit clear.  You will be in my prayers, as will you be in everyone's here on the Retreat.

As Clauds said, don't hesitate to come here when you need a hug, a shoulder to cry on, or just to vent.  We all understand.

Sorry, didn't mean to be misleading.

But thanks so-o-o much for all of your prayers and support! I'll try to keep you all updated.

Mikki, it's comforting to hear that you've been through almost the same thing, even though it wasn't stage 4. Thanks. Smiley

Bless you all!

Keggy, I know the feeling when you hear that someone you love has cancer. I went through that at least three times. It was never fun.

*Hug.* I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.
