Hi everyone!  Today is day 1 of Februaru's Picture Book Marathon.  Is anyone else participating in this national (possibly worldwide) writing challenge?

I see a thread for NanoWrimo, but what about this new initiative for PB writers?  I'd love to know if anyone else is signed up and participating in this initiative.

http://site.picturebookmarathon.org/

FROM THE SITE:

Marathon n. 1. a long-distance race. 2. a race of about 26 miles. 3. a month, during which children's writers compose one picture book each day until they have written 26 picture books. Several rest days allowed!

February 2010 - Go!

The starting signal has been fired. That sound you hear is the tapping, scribbling, and scrawling of 138 children's writers from around the world as they work on the draft of their picture book for the day.

Thanks for posting this, Miranda.  I don't think I've ever heard of this.  Or blocked it out. LOL! In one way, this draws me in.  In another, it sounds even more challenging than the April Poem-a-Day challenge.  Poems, I can handle.  A picture book a day?  Whoa...

All the best to you, and any other brave souls out there!
