I think I want him to be born like any other boy except that he has a magical ability to breath under water. He tries to conceal his secret but when his crush Shadlynn almost drowns he comes close to disclosing his secret as he pulls her out of the water. He breaths through one small gill in the back of his neck which looks like a birth mark.Still working on it, hmmmm

I like that Legacy! Keep him just like any other boy, yeah i like that angle too. Ooo, and does Shadlynn wonder how he was able to "hold his breath" for so long during her rescue? Hmmm, very intriguing! Once you get the story or chapter down, i'd love to read it!

Do you pronounce her name, Shade-lynn?

Hi Legacy,

This is a thought on your non-merman character, plus it adds mystery:  What if your person was scared to death of water, and by accident, falls in and then realizes he can breathe?  The mystery is, how is that possible?  Maybe he doesn't know much about his parentage, like he was adopted, or orphaned, and now he's determined to find out about himself, only every clue he finds comes to a brick wall that is surrounding a government-run scientist place...could he have been a genetic experiment, the first of his kind to be bred to breathe underwater for a future world that may be just that, underwater??

Just to let everyone know I'v figured out my outline and changed my girl characters name. But I don't want to share to much more because I want it to be a secret till it is published in 2011 or 2012. thanks everyone!
