My last assignment was said to be returned on 4/21. If I recall correctly I recieved it back by 4/27 but it seems like I've been recieving my advanced lessons back sooner then I recieved my lessons from the beginning course though I think this has to do with your instructor and how fast they get to your lessons.

I do mine by snail mail and from the date they say they sent it back til I actually receive it is 10-12 days.

Mine were always between 4 and 5 weeks from the time I mailed them.  The only time it took longer was when it was over a holiday like Thanksgiving or Christmas.  I've heard that now you can also opt to send and receive the assignments by email.  Has anyone done that?  Does it still take as long to get them returned?

While, I don't email assignments I know there are some if not many writers here on the boards that do. Return is much quicker. If I remember correctly adverage is 10-12 day from the day you emailed it.

I email and love it. It is much faster which allows me to implement changes and keep my momentum going. For my LRWG course, I would get lessons back from 1-5 days from emailing it. Super fast turn-around. For my ICL course it seems to be 7-14 days on average, but the assignments are much bigger for the instructor to read and correct (half a novel vs. one chapter).

Round, you are looking at 4 weeks or so for snail mail. As some people have said, e-mail is much faster. It is anything up to 2 weeks. I got one assignment back in 24 hours. So it would seem it very much depends on your instructor.  If you think you should have had something back then give them a call and ask if they know anything. Smiley

From the time they said they SENT it to you, it should be no more than ten days (if you're in the continental US) even with the postal service crawling on their knees. If it's longer than that, you might want to contact the Institute and have it resent...which actually takes longer than ten days since your instructor has to be contacted and has to mark up your second copy to send to you (and you wondered what the back-up copy was for :-)

Thanks for sharing that information Jan! I'm glad I've never had an assignment lost in the mail and had to have it resent. I get anxious waiting on my assignment's enough I can't imagine having to waint longer if one where to become lost. Shocked
