Is anyone here using a MAC and submitting their assignments electronically?  I have a MAC and Mac for Windows 2008 loaded and I'm not sure if this will work with submitting electronically?  When I download the templates they sent it doesn't seem like anything happens and I'm not sure what converted I would use.  The one they suggested I don't think applies to those with MACs.  Can someone help???

Thanks!

LadyWuzzy

i downloaded the following template http://www.institutechildrenslit.com/ms/manuscript_template.doc

Using Pages, I opened the file by searching for "manuscript_template" I did file save and save it in mac format.

To save back into a .DOC format, you have to do file Export and choose the DOC format.

Every time, I need to use it, I open the empty template and do file save as.

Hope that helps.

Hi, Wuzzy (great name!)

I have a Mac. What word processing program are you using? Because if you have Word, it oughta just open the template. I downloaded the template, opened it, and it opened in Word. Then, like Mina says, I would do a "save as" each time I used it, if I were using it.

I didn't have to do any saving in Mac format or file exporting, though... Word will open .docs whether they've been created on a PC or on a Mac. BUT I have a rather old version of Word, so maybe things have changed. And I don't know what Pages is, so I'm probably really antiquated!

Kate,

I use MAC's word processor. That is why I had the export instruction.

Oh, is that what 'Pages' is? My Mac is old enough that it has Appleworks, which I never use. Told you I was antiquated...  Grin

The link that Mina sent seemed to work.  I don't know why it wasn't working before ....

Thanks to all who responded!
