Sorry, I think I deleted my old posts by mistake.  Thanks to those who answered last night's post about adding core standards to a cover letter.  This is what I drafted up, if anyone has time to take a look, I'd love to hear if it makes sense.  I'll add it into the letter.  Thanks!

Kim

"This book fits into the core standards for grade level four and five. It covers key reading standards that deal with character, setting and theme. For writing standards, it uses narrative to develop real experiences through descriptive details and clear event sequences. It also offers a chance for students to draw evidence from the text to support analysis, reflection, and research."

Do I need to include the subject?  How would I write that?  ie. This manuscript covers topics disscused in the subject of social studies.

Kim, you didn't delete anything. It's up in Writing Chat, rather than here in Research Chat.

Kimv, that looks good to me.  I think you said it just right when you said "Reading standard/writing standards...."  I'm no editor, but this sounds professional to me.

Thanks Jan but I can't seem to get to this link.  It's telling me an error has occurred. Is it still there?  I'd like to visit it for another project I'm working on now.  Thanks

Dratz now I can't remember what workshop leader talked about core standards and that workshop is long gone from this board. Hmmm...maybe it was this workshop?
